Mind of a Monster: Cramming
There is no better way to study than to cram everything on your brain in the least possible amount of time before you take an exam. Some would beg to differ, I say "let them differ, as soon as I finish cramming".
If you were present during lectures and listened to the professor about all the nice things he had to say and understood it, then your a genius. But in reality, you won't understand half of what professors had to say in class. And to add insult to serious injury, they expect you to hand in an assignment regarding the said topic in a week. Without proper catching up, the cycle will continue leaving you clueless with half of the course.
Hold on, one might ask "If you didn't understand half of what the professor said, then how are you going to learn all of it in the least possible time?". Exams are designed to evaluate students on their understanding of the important topics in a course. Most of the time, Professors explain too much information to a given topic losing focus on what really matters. So you need to cram only the important topics. The exam will always be based on these topics rather than the sub-topics.
Another might ask "What mark can you expect with this kind of studying technique?". What do you expect? Of course you won't have a very good mark because you missed all the questions about the sub-topics and sub-sub-topics. But if you crammed the important topics properly, a passing grade is most of the time guaranteed.
Someone else might ask "Why do people cram?". Well there are many factors to consider why people cram for exams. The good reasons include: Work, Course-overload, and Extra-curicular activities. The bad reasons include: Habitual Cramming, Day Dreaming, and Slacking. But generally, people cram because of the wrong reasons. Its a proven fact. One needs to rid of his/her bad habits to avoid cramming.
So remember to cram for the right reasons and try to avoid it if possible.
